Entrepreneurs need some networking time to rejuvenate their can-do spirits and share some good advice. We all know those daily struggles where you forget about the beautiful dream that got you started in the first place.
Entrepreneurs need each other and encouragement!
For me, nothing is better than a live and LIVELY audience of smiling faces of like-minded people. It was an honor to talk about my speaking and coaching business before moderating the Local First Milwaukee “Why Women Lead MKE” sold-out event of more than 200 women.
I thanked them for coming after a long day of work because, like I said, they could be in their sweatpants, eating Chinese, and watching Netflix right now. Instead, they chose each other.
My job as moderator was to pass the microphone to a panel of great entrepreneurial women and keep the discussion flowing.
So much fun with all the super questions from the audience that generated terrific business advice.
Tips like:
- Research and survey your possible customers
- Find a mentor in your industry
- Make attainable short-term goals
- Set up your filing and accounting systems from the beginning
- Write down what you are going to do the next day before you go to bed – STOP THINKING
You know it’s a great night when we’ve all had a shared experience and feel renewed.
The standing ovation didn’t hurt either. Big thanks to photographer Katherine Gardner for capturing this super-charged night.
For me, the extra bonus was this Facebook post later from Katie Hunt. Enjoy!
