I’m not proud of my messy closet.

Honestly, the place was such an unusual catastrophe brought on by a whirlwind of back-to-back speaking engagements. I kept changing clothes, running out of the house, and then finally came home to realize I need to take this troubling picture.  As I told my Facebook friends, this was REAL LIFE!

This picture proves my point about what people want, not only on social media but traditional media too. To be noticed, I tell my clients you have to – BE DIFFERENT – BE REAL!

Maybe not this real. 🙂 Except when I posted this picture on my Facebook page, the audience went nuts. In fact, the numbers for outreach and interactions on my page skyrocketed. See numbers below.

Dave, Dorene, and Gino on 96.5 WKLH MORNINGS had to bring it up and grill me too!

My buddies on 96.5 WKLH had a field day with this one and I think it’s one of our best Katrina’s Corner segments. Take a listen if you want to learn how to throw your friend under a “public” bus. 🙂

So remember, putting out only the bright and shiny perfect you is boring and not real.

People follow you to be able to catch a glimpse of something different; a piece of you they can relate to their own lives.

So many people have come up to me know to talk about my messy closet and how funny it all was because they understood.

Nothing would have happened if I hadn’t posted something different. Something real.
